After the success of the previous Project of Excellence ECCE AQUA, the Department of Comparative Biomedicine and Food Science (BCA) has been selected again as Department of Excellence by ANVUR (Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of University and Research Systems) for the period 2023-2027.
180 Italian Departments were awarded and BCA was one of the 10 Departments selected in the field of Veterinary Science, receiving a total funding of 6,7 million €.
Our project, SENTINEL (animalS and ENvironmenT: toward a sustaINablE Life) focuses on the study of animal response and resilience to climate change and anthropogenic activities, with the aim of producing safe and sustainable food. To this end, we will invest conspicuous resources for the setting up of advanced laboratories, acquisition of tools and techniques for innovative teaching, recruit specialized personnel and potentiate our Degree Courses and PhD programs.
